SALT Story
SALT was founded by Timofey Dovgalyuk, a leader driven by a deep commitment to serving others. Born in Riga, Latvia, and raised in the Soviet Union, Timofey’s journey into service began in the 1980s as a young boy. He and his family traveled throughout Eastern Europe as music missionaries, sharing the gospel, visiting hospitals, playing in prisons, and supporting the persecuted church.
Timofey’s father played a pivotal role in this mission as one of the founding members of the first non-profit organization in the former Soviet Union, dedicated to serving marginalized communities. This legacy of service profoundly influenced Timofey's own path.
In 1991, the Dovgalyuk family relocated to the Washington, DC area. Timofey pursued his education at the University of Virginia, earning degrees in Architecture and East European Languages and Literature. Following his graduation, he and his wife, Andrea, established a successful company in Northern Virginia.
A significant turning point came in 2014 when Timofey’s father passed away after a long battle with cancer. This loss prompted Timofey to heed a calling to take a more active role in ministry, leading to the creation of SALT—a movement dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need through gospel driven leadership development.
Today, Timofey is a devoted husband, father of four, and a leader in both business and non-profit sectors. He continues to reside in the Washington, DC area, where he is passionate about empowering others and fostering community through SALT’s mission.
