FROM THE FIELD: Starting New Locations During a War?
Apr 13, 2022
Do you remember Kostya? He pastors a church in a large city in Ukraine. We highlighted his work at the beginning of this crisis. Each day, Kostya wakes up and faithfully opens the doors of his church, provides a warm place to be, a hot meal, and hosts a worship service that sometimes will last upwards of 3-hours long.
Well, hundreds have gathered daily from his neighborhood for the preaching of the gospel. So much so they have run out of space. This week, God provided another location, allowing Kostya to now be a multisite church — 1 church in 2 locations. I’ll have to check my history, but I don’t know many multisite churches that have been birthed during a war. It is definitely the first time I have seen this.
However, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness through it all. Nothing surprises Him. Nothing is out of His reach. Nothing, the Bible says, is outside of his control (read the book of Jonah, if you dare).
Kostya, we are with you. We are for you. And we praise God for your faithfulness!
Friends, thank you for partnering with SALT Ukraine.
