FROM THE FIELD: Introducing SALT Church planter, Vladimir
Mar 15, 2022
We are inching closer to three-weeks of war this week. It has been a true nightmare for the country of Ukraine; however, the war is not yet lost, and we are praying it will not be so.
One of the thousands of reasons for Ukraine's resilience is the many real life heroes that have emerged. I don't know about you, but I would consider every single one of our church planters, pastors, and ministry partners in Ukraine my heroes.
Vladimir is one of them. He launched his church over a year ago. He was raised in the Washington state area, but moved his family about 2-years ago to Ukraine to plant churches. This young guy is a machine of gospel results. Whatever he does, he seems to succeed, and then largely multiply his work through those he develops. God has evidently blessed Vladimir for the work of church planting and global missions. But now, like the rest of our partners, he is relief worker.
His wife and children are currently safe in the Carpathian Mountains, while he (and other men in his church) are working to serve upwards of 50 refugees per day from eastern Ukraine.
I asked Vlad for a breakdown of his expenses. Here is what he sent me:
- $630/week ($90/day) -- Renting house for women and children
- $250/week -- food to feed women and children (approximately 15 families per day)
- $250/week -- travel expenses driving refugees to neighboring countries
- $200/week -- food serving refugees at his house/church in Vinnytsia
- $650/week -- food purchased to feed the poor in the streets
This is almost $2,000 a week he is spending on relief work. I have told Vladimir over and over again that SALT is standing right beside him through this entire fight.
HERE'S OUR GOAL THIS WEEK: I want to raise $15,000 this week so that Vladimir can provide relief through is church all the way through the month of April (for the next seven-weeks).
If you would like to give to Ukraine Relief (but specifically to Vlad's work), simply respond to this email and tell me how much money you are giving. Then go here and give:

I will be updating us all week on the progress!
Vlad is doing his part.
SALT is doing our part.
God is doing in His part.
