FROM THE FIELD: Introducing SALT Church planter, Kostya

1 timothy 2:1-4 from the field great commission odesa salt ukraine train plant serve ukraine Mar 05, 2022

I want to begin our very first FROM THE FIELD BLOG highlighting our SALT church planter, Kostya.

Kostya lives in Odesa. He has taken his family (wife and children) to Moldova, and he hasn't seen them since the war started. Kostya has turned his church into a hostel, hosting refugees, giving out hot meals, and sharing the gospel with hundreds who come through.

Kostya is a strategic thinker and has already started to think outside the box in this crisis. Each day, his team sends a truck taking a family to Moldova. On the way back into Ukraine, they pack the truck back full with supplies and food, as Ukraine is seeing an extremely urgent shortage of food and daily supplies.

It takes about $100 to transport one family (sometimes two families) to Moldova and back (food for the family, gas, and food to fill up the truck). So you can see that even a small gift of $100 has real, tangible benefits.

I am very proud of our partners on the field and how they have responded. They have each become pastoral relief workers over the last 10-days, and it is our job to advocate for them as loud and as far as we possibly can.

Join me in praying for a miracle in Ukraine.

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
