FROM THE FIELD: “I can feel your prayers on my skin.”
Mar 24, 2022
On March 23rd, we partnered with McLean Bible Church for a Night of Worship & Prayer for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. At the same time, one of our partners had sent men into the war zone (where there was active shelling) to pick up women and children. This is what he wrote to us today:
“Greetings dear prayer warriors! Our team, together with a group of refugees from Mariupol, safely reached our city last night, which cannot be said about the car in which I was driving. Unfortunately, the equipment could not stand it and for 100 km from our city the clutch broke, so that the rest of the road my car was towed.
I can feel these prayers, if I may say so, "on my skin.” That is why the Lord blesses us so much, and we all remain safe and sound, despite the fact that sometimes we have to be in the zone of shelling.”
It is times like these that we are reminded that prayer is really our only resource. Yes, we can provide relief. Yes, we can encourage when called upon. We can even raise money for the work. But it is prayer, anchored in the deep ocean of the grace of God in Jesus that sustains us and gives us hope.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7).
Thank you for partnering with SALT Ukraine. Thank you for giving to SALT Ukraine’s work.
Keep praying! We are in this fight as long as it takes.
